Environment

Habitat: 65 - 85°F

In its natural habitat, Monstera deliciosa grows as an epiphyte, climbing up tree trunks and other surfaces using aerial roots. It thrives in the warm, humid conditions of tropical rainforests.

Maximum Size: 6 - 10'

Monstera deliciosa is a vigorous climber and can grow quite large if provided with the right conditions. In its natural environment, it can reach heights of up to 70 feet. As a houseplant, it typically grows to a more manageable size of 6 to 10 feet when given adequate support.

Space / Planter Size: Large

Monstera deliciosa requires some space to accommodate its size and allow for proper growth. As a climbing plant, it benefits from a sturdy support structure like a moss pole or trellis. This allows the aerial roots to cling and the plant to climb vertically. The size of the space needed depends on the desired growth of the plant. It's important to consider its potential height and spread when selecting an appropriate location.

Plant Care

Overall, Monstera deliciosa is a stunning plant that can add a touch of tropical elegance to your indoor space. With the right conditions and care, it can become a beautiful focal point in any room.

Water: Moderate

In terms of care, Monstera deliciosa prefers well-draining soil and regular watering. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, and be cautious not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot. It also appreciates moderate to high humidity, so misting the leaves or using a humidifier can be beneficial, especially in drier indoor environments.

Sun: Bright Indirect

Monstera deliciosa thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may not grow as vigorously or produce as many leaves. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Care Level: Moderate

Monstera deliciosa is generally considered to be a relatively easy plant to care for. It can adapt to a range of conditions but does best with consistent care.
