Alocasia Black Velvet, also known as Alocasia reginula, is a stunning tropical plant highly prized for its unique foliage.  It is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, particularly in the regions of Borneo and Sumatra.

Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: High Humidity

In its natural habitat, Alocasia Black Velvet grows as an understory plant in the rainforest, where it receives filtered sunlight and thrives in warm and humid conditions.

Maximum Size: 1-2' (Tall)

Alocasia Black Velvet is a relatively compact Alocasia species, reaching a height of about 1 to 2 feet when fully grown. The leaves are typically 6 to 8 inches long.

Space / Planter Size: Small

Alocasia Black Velvet can be grown in containers and is well-suited for indoor cultivation. It doesn't require excessive space, but it appreciates a bit of room to spread out. A 6- to 8-inch pot should be sufficient for a young plant, while a larger pot may be needed as it grows.

It's important to keep the soil evenly moist for Alocasia Black Velvet, but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch (2.5 cm) of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent over-watering, which can lead to root rot. However, don't let it completely dry out either. Maintaining a good balance of moisture is key.
