This lush plant is a hybrid of the Emerald Queen and the Burgundy Philodendron. It's a variegated climber with a large glossy heart-shaped leave. The young leaves are neon but turn blotchy green when they mature. With its beautifully colored leaves and pink stems, it's an eye-catching choice for any home.

Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: 55 - 80°F

The Philodendron Painted Lady is not temperature tolerant and should be keep out of extreme heat or cool climates. It is a lover of moist air and does well in 65%-80% humidity. Keep away from air conditioner vents.

Maximum Size: 5'

The one detail you are going to want to think about will be its growth potential. If the watering is good and it is kept in bright, indirect sunlight for at least 12 hours, this will be more than enough for it to grow at least 3 feet.

Space / Planter Size: Medium

This does not need a large planter but it does prefer loose roots so do not let it become roots bound. The Painted Lady is a slow grower so it will not require a lot of repotting.

History

The Philodendron Painted Lady was cultivated in the 1970s by crossing it with a Philodendron Burgundy and Philodendron Emerald Queen which are native to the rainforests of Columbia. Because of its origins, it does well indirect light and moderate to high humidity. The Painted Lady loves to climb. It's a great choice for indoors as it is a natural air purifier.

Plant Care

The Painted Lady is robust and easy to care for. Find a bright warm spot in your home and she will thrive. Avoid over exposure to sunlight. Over exposure will burn the leaves. You should have no problem keeping this plant in good shape for years to come.

Water: Moderate

The Painted Lady likes a steady supply of water. Test the soil to determine if watering is needed. When the top 2" or 3" of soil is dry, it's time to water. Water thoroughly.

Sun: Bright, Indirect

In general, Philodendrons like a lot bright, filtered light. This means it needs bright, indirect light but avoid full sun for extended periods of time.

Care Level: Easy

The Painted Lady is easy to care for. It is sensitive to under or over watering and likes to be kept on the dryer side. You should have a pretty hands-off experience as long as you find the right spot in your house and abide by the watering requirements.
