Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: Indoor / 60 - 80° F

It's best to have this plant set up at 60 – 80 °F. This is enough for the plant to grow and sustain itself. Anything lower than this can become too cold and impede its ability to stay healthy. It is common for the plant to do well in warmer conditions in Taiwan and that is when it tends to grow the most. The most important thing is to ensure there are no sudden changes in temperature. This is when things start to get worse.

Maximum Size: Up to 15'

You will want to think about the overall size of this plant as it tends to grow a lot. This is why pruning the plant is a must or it will grow up to 15 feet tall. This is usually not reasonable for those who are setting it up indoors. Most people will continue to prune it so it does not get to that type of height. This is something to keep a note of when setting up the plant indoors.

Space / Planter Size: Large

This is going to require a large planter due to how much it can grow. While most people are going to stay on top of things by pruning the plant, it is still important to give the roots enough space to spread. This is how the plant is going to stay healthy as time goes on.

History

The "Dwarf Umbrella Tree" is found in Taiwan and is appreciated for its natural beauty. The plant tends to grow with its umbrella-like shape and is often cared for to be set up indoors. It does well outdoors but can also do well indoors as long as the temperature is stable.

Plant Care

It is important to set up the soil by having 1 part perlite and 2 parts peat moss. This is the best condition for the roots to spread and for the plant to grow as it needs to. The plant tends to be easy to care for as long as its height is managed well.

Water: Moderate

There is no reason to excessively water this plant. It is best to plan when the soil is dry. This is enough to ensure you don't have to deal with standing water and it can still grow properly.

Sun: Indirect

It does not require direct sunlight. As long as there is indirect sunlight in the room, it will do well. It is best to put it in a stable setting where it does get this type of sunlight throughout the day.

Care Level: Moderate

It is important to do stem cuttings from time to time to make sure it does not overgrow indoors. This is where some care is required.
