The green leaves are often compared to swords due to how straight and pointy they are. The narrow tips are noticeable when looking at this plant and it has a perky stature that is appealing to the naked eye when set up.

Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: 30 - 90°F

The right temperature for the Yucca Cane plant is 30-90°F. It is best to have it out of the sunlight but still inside a room that has access to natural light. This will ensure it continues to grow over time.

Maximum Size: 20 - 30'

This is a fast-growing plant and it can reach up to 30' assuming the growth conditions are right. This is often when the plant is kept out of direct sunlight and is watered routinely. If done properly, the plant will grow tall.

Space / Planter Size: Large

It is best to go with a larger planter as this is a plant that will grow quickly. It can grow multiple feet in length, so getting a robust planter with additional space along the edges is a must.

History

The plant originated from Southeast Mexico and is noted for doing well in low-water situations. This is how it became popular as a modern plant because it would age gracefully and was easy to maintain.

Plant Care

For the most part, it is going to be easy to care for as it does not require constant watering. You can set it up in a bright area without direct sunlight and that will be enough to keep it growing. Just put in a bit of water and trim the leaves as it starts to grow to maximize its growth potential.

Water: Low

You will want to follow a set rule where you pay attention to the soil. If the soil is becoming drier, it is best to pour in a bit of water to keep it saturated. This will be enough to ensure the plant continues to flourish.

Sun: Bright, Indirect

You will want to maintain access to bright light without direct sunlight to maximize its growth. This is to ensure it does not dry quickly and continues to grow as required. Direct sunlight might dry it rapidly and that is why it is best to keep it out of direct sunlight

Care Level: Easy

It is not difficult to care for as it is a drought-resistant plant. This means it does well when the room temperature and overall access to sunlight are stable. If that is the case, it is quite easy to care for the Yucca Cane plant.
