This is a delightful tropical plant from the rainforest of Brazil!  It is stunning with its long, interestingly shaped leaves, dark green spots, and purple bottom. It loves the morning sun, but the afternoon sun would be too much for it, so place it in your lovely home accordingly.

Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: 65 - 85°F

This is a warmer climate plant, which means it has to be warm indoors. This is the only way the leaves are going to continue to stay in good standing. Otherwise, they will wilt. It is best to maintain the indoor temperature within this range to make sure it does not get impacted. It is renowned for doing well in warmer climates, which makes it important to replicate this.

Maximum Size: Up to 3'

You are going to want to think about the maximum potential of this plant and how much it can grow indoors. For the most part, Calathea Lancifolia is going to grow up to three feet. This is often the maximum size it is going to reach assuming everything else is good with the plant.

Space / Planter Size: Medium

This plant is not going to need a massive planter and it will do well with a medium planter. This is due to it only growing up to three feet and sometimes less than this. The goal is to make sure it is pruned well at different times of the year and it will do well with the space available.

History

This is a plant that is found in Brazil and is appreciated for managing well in tropical conditions. It is resilient, refined, and has a unique aesthetic you will notice as soon as you take a look at it. This is what makes it one of the more intriguing houseplants available for those who want to go with a unique addition.

Plant Care

This plant does not need a lot to be taken care of. It will require water from time to time and it is going to require minimal light. This makes it easy to set up in different parts of the home without worrying about its leaves wilting. As long as the temperature is good, this plant will do well too.

Water: Moderate

It is not going to need excessive water to stay healthy. As long as it is watered once a week, it is going to be fine and it will continue to grow.

Sun: Low

The light requirements are minimal with this plant and it can do well with indirect sunlight. It is more important to stabilize the plant and make sure it is set up in a way where it continues to sustain its shape as time goes on.

Care Level: Moderate

As long as it is kept in warm conditions and it receives water once a week, it will be good to go. It is also recommended to prune it here and there to make sure its shape remains the way you want it to be in the planter.
