Habitat: 65°F to 75°F

Calathea Zebrina prefers temperatures between 65°F to 75°F. Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or temperatures below 60°F.

Maximum Size: 2' - 3'

Calathea Zebrina can reach a height of about 2 to 3 feet when fully grown.

Space / Planter Size: Small

The size of Calathea Zebrina can vary, but it generally requires a bit of space due to its broad leaves and upright growth habit. Provide enough space for the plant to spread out and grow without being crowded by other plants.

In its natural habitat, Calathea Zebrina grows on the forest floor, where it receives filtered sunlight and is protected by the canopy of larger plants. It thrives in warm, humid environments.

Plant Care

Calathea Zebrina thrives in high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or place the plant on a tray with pebbles and water to increase humidity around it. Alternatively, you can use a humidifier to create a suitable environment. With proper care, including suitable light, humidity, and watering, Calathea Zebrina can thrive and display its distinctive striped leaves, making it a visually appealing addition to your indoor plant collection.

Water: Moderate

It is important to keep the soil of Calathea Zebrina consistently moist but not soggy. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry. However, be cautious not to overwater or allow the plant to sit in standing water, as this can lead to root rot.

Sun: Bright, Indirect

Calathea Zebrina prefers bright, indirect light. It should be placed in a location where it can receive moderate to low levels of light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Care Level: Moderate

Calathea Zebrina is considered to have a moderate care level. It requires a bit more attention compared to some other houseplants, but it is still manageable with proper care.
