Who needs it?  If you live in an area that experiences winter temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit you will want to purchase winter shipping insurance.  For only $10.00, your plant will be shipped with a heat pack and bubble wrap for insulation to ensure it arrives to you free of any damage from the cold or we will refund your money back! 

You will receive a notification of shipping and will need to ensure that the plant is welcomed into your home the date of arrival.  If you will be traveling, please contact us to reschedule the shipment date at least 24 hours prior to shipping.  You do not want to leave your lovely new friend out in the cold. The heat pack that is provided with the insurance is good for 72 hours from the time shipped so we are confident that your plant will arrive safe and warm.

If you are purchasing multiple plants, you may need to purchase insurance for each plant if the plants are being shipped separately.  Feel free to reach out to us at support@plantasticdirect.com and we will confirm the amount required for your order.

Refund Policy for all Plants

If your plant arrives damaged, simply take a photo and send it to support@plantasticdirect.com within 3 days after the delivery date.

We will make a determination and will refund the amount purchased if you have a valid concern.  We will notify you via email, within 48 hours after we have received your email with the photos supporting your claim and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, your refund will be applied to your original payment method. The refund will ALWAYS be back to the card used for the original purchase, no exceptions. 

The refund amount will post in accordance with your cards policy, usually within 3 to 5 business days. 

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and correct as necessary. All claims must be made within 3 days after the delivery date.
Exchanges
We do not do exchanges on plants.
Replacements
We do not replace plants.  We will issue a refund if appropriate. (see above), and you may place another order if desired.

Environment

Habitat: Indoors / 70 - 75°F

The best environment for this plant would be a room that is set at a stable temperature and has medium sunlight. If it is too hot or too cold, this is going to impact how the plant grows as time goes on.

Maximum Size: 4' - 6'

The average size for this plant would be 4’ to 6’ tall. In some cases, it will go up to 20' in height but this is rare and it has to be grown in perfect conditions.

Space / Planter Size: Large

It is best to give it at least two inches of space on all sides while taking into account its full growth potential. This tends to include a larger pot since the plant can grow 4’ to 6’ tall.

History

This plant comes from tropical Africa and has been a common staple among houseplants in the region. Over time, its noticeable green edges have become popular among the masses. This is why it is cherished as a classic houseplant that works well in a wide array of situations.

Plant Care

To care for this plant, it's recommended to have it set in medium light rather than direct sunlight. It's common to assume low light is best for the perennial plant but that is untrue. It will do better in medium light for maximum growth.

Water: Light Watering

This is a drought-resistant plant, which means it does not require a tremendous amount of watering. When the soil is dry, this is a sign it's time to water the plant. Other than that, it will do well on its own and is going to continue to grow as required.

Sun: Low, No Direct Sunlight

The plant requires medium sunlight and anything more than this is going to cause burning. It is best to avoid putting it in any place where there will be hours of direct sunlight.

Care Level: Easy

It is not difficult to care for this plant as it is a common houseplant. As long as it is set at the right temperature and in the right type of light, it will age well.
